Families for Home Education, the oldest and largest statewide home school organization in Missouri, has been serving Missouri home educators since 1983. FHE is comprised of members – you, not just a board and staff. The purpose of FHE is to protect the inalienable right of the parents of Missouri to teach their own children without further state regulation and control.

SB 727 & HB 2287 - Governor Signed

Governor Signed SB 727 & HB 2287 on May 7, 2024 You may have heard, but the Governor did sign SB 727 and HB 2287 into law, and they will become effective on August 28, 2024. What does that mean to you as a traditional homeschooler? Not much really. Heads UP - School Withdrawal

Heads UP: If you plan to start homeschooling (new to homeschooling) this fall and have not sent in your withdrawal letter to the public school, your withdrawal letter needs to be at the school before the first day. If that means you have to hand deliver instead of mailing it (the usual recommendation), then that is fine.
